Caring for the Community
Beverly Hughes is the Manager Of Community Caring and the following
editorial appeared in the local paper.
Beverley's leap of faith for Charity
The taking part in a 10,000-foot charity sky dive is not a normal part
of Beverley Hughes job description. (Although the company she works for
does ask for high standards!) Community Caring Home Care Agency, Sister
Company to Weatherstones House Care, employs Beverley as a Team Leader
at its Neston Office. Regular readers are used to hearing of the
exploits of Weatherstones House Care but this month, its sister
company, Community Caring takes centre stage.
Beverley Hughes, has been nominated by staff to take part in the " Toss
the Boss" event organised by local radio station, Buzz FM. Beverley,
always one to rise to a challenge, agreed to take part in the charity
event on behalf of St. John's Hospice.
Her three-year-old daughter, Megan Hughes was not at all sure when she
heard her mum was to take part in a charity sky dive from 10,000 feet.
She promised her mum she would get a mattress to break the fall.
However, Beverley is quite excited about the up-coming event although
she admits to being a little nervous.
The 32-year-old single mum says she has been preparing for then drop by
dieting and keeping fit. " I also gave up smoking over three months ago
and I try to swim whenever I can."
" It will be a tandem sky dive and I have been told that for the first
5,000 feet, we will be in free fall at 120 miles an hour". " It does
sound a bit scary but I am sure I won't need that mattress."
A stunning £600+ has already been raised with the help of
family, friends, colleagues and clients. Everyone has been incredibly
supportive which has been a marvellous accolade to both Beverley and
Community Caring.
The big day has now been delayed until Feb 2002 due to bad
weather. However anyone interested in sponsoring Beverley can ring her
during office hours on 353 8070 or 8088.
